DJ set planner

Pick a song and get a set where every step mixes smoothly: the keys sit next to each other on the Camelot wheel and the tempos stay within a few percent. Choose whether the energy should hold, build up or wind down. All songs come from today's charts.

How it works

From the song you pick, the planner looks for the next one among 1615 charting songs: its key must be the same, one step around the Camelot wheel, or the relative major or minor, and its tempo must be within the range you set. Among those it prefers songs that match your energy choice, keep the tempo closest and are popular in more countries. Each step says why it fits, so you can change the order and still know what you are doing.

Questions

What is harmonic mixing?

Mixing songs whose keys sit next to each other on the Camelot wheel, so the notes of the outgoing and incoming song don't clash. Songs in the same key, one step around the wheel, or the relative major or minor all blend smoothly.

How much can the tempo change between two songs?

Most DJ software can stretch a song by a few percent without it sounding odd, so the planner keeps each step within the range you choose (6% by default). Songs at half or double the tempo can work too, they are marked.

Where do the songs come from?

From today's Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube charts in the countries we follow: 1615 songs whose tempo, key and energy we measured ourselves.
